Starting October 18th, our engineers will be migrating all customers to newer, more powerful hypervisors.

During this maintenance window, which will last until October 25, customers' virtual servers will be shut down for a minute or two and then started again in their new hardware.

Downtime per reboot will be less than 5 minutes.

Please ensure that your virtual server is properly configured to restart all your essential services after a reboot.

If you require a specific date and time for your virtual server to be rebooted, please contact our team.

This project is a part of our continuous improvements in order to make sure your experience with ServerPoint.com is of the highest quality possible. We hope you enjoy the boosts in performance!

Isn't that wonderful? That's because things rarely break down around here...

With over 20 years of experience, we've learned so much about building networks and cloud infrastructures that when we build them, we can think of every way they can break. Thus, we design them not to.

But we've been quite busy! What have we been up to so far?

As you know, all our four data centers in the United States have been upgraded with higher network capacity as well as faster CPUs. Our dedicated server offerings at our Las Vegas, NV data center have also been upgraded with new types of CPUs!

What about our Amsterdam and Singapore data centers? Those are next! But with current travel restrictions, our team can't fly there to perform these major upgrades... but we can't wait to hop on a plane and go!

Also, remember that now you can now deploy dedicated servers automatically from within your client portal at https://portal.serverpoint.com.

Speaking of our portal... we are writing a whole new version, from the ground up, using JAMstack technology. And we are building a public API for all of you to enjoy!

Stay tuned for more!

After some research, we noticed the issue was related to the international network operated by Zayo, Inc. Zayo is one of our Internet network providers in Las Vegas, NV.

One of our network engineers disabled our BGP session to Zayo to prevent worldwide traffic from using Zayo to reach us, which seems to have resolved the issue.

We have reached out to Zayo to find out what happened.

We will be performing major upgrades to our Santa Clara, California data center, starting the evening of August 14th, 2020 and lasting until August 18th, 2020.

This maintenance event includes performing CPU upgrades to many of our hypervisors as well as increasing our SSD storage capacity. There will also be network upgrades performed.

During that time, this region will not be available to NEW virtual server deployments. Existing clients will not experience any changes and your virtual servers will not be affected.

If you absolutely need a new virtual server to be deployed in our Santa Clara region, contact our team and they will gladly deploy the server for you.

As always, we are working hard to continue improving our services and making your experience with us the best there is, even in the middle of this pandemic.

We hope to continue serving you for many years to come! Thanks for your continued support!

Over the last few days, we've installed new 10/40G switches, installed new hypervisors, ran tests on new SSDs, and we are preparing a few server racks for our new line of Xeon E3s v6 and Xeon Scalable dedicated servers. Stay tuned...

One single HV (a hypervisor; the physical machine that hosts your virtual server) crashed.

Thanks for our distributed storage technology platform, all virtual servers that were hosted in it were automatically migrated over to other HVs.

Each HV hosts several dozen virtual servers, and each data center is made up of hundreds or thousands of these HVs.

This HV will now be taken out of production for further testing.

Impact: 15 minutes.
